Pride of Britain

Grassroots LGBTQI communities grown out of UK Pride

British Pride is an ongoing documentary photography project capturing raw and authentic portraits of today’s British LGBTQIA+ community within grassroots movements grown out of pride started from 2023.

Trans Pride 2023

The goal is to create a broad and meaningful body of work that illustrates how Pride is not limited to one month but is a continuous and interconnected network of smaller communities. These grassroots movements form mini families, reduce stigma, and promote the well-being and mental health of the queer and trans populations in the UK today.

It's important to document the grassroots movements that have grown organically out of Pride in different parts of the UK, from the larger cities like London and Manchester to smaller, emerging Pride communities it shows how diverse and multifaceted our queer identities are in modern Britain today and how we work together to create safe spaces and help us express and grow proudly within the full spectrum of the LGBTQI umbrella.
